This is the jewel in the crown of the Royal Golf Dar Es-Salam. Born for competition in 1971, its design was elected the most difficult on the European circuit. It is a very technical course, making you think and plan each swing with exactitude – perfect for strategists looking for a true adversary.

The number 9 hole is famous worldwide: a large lake with the green at its centre and 172 metres to be played entirely over water or, even better, on the top of the water lilies! Although long, this course is never boring. From the front trees to the intimidating bunkers surrounding the shelf like greens make every approach shot a huge test of nerve, the superb Bermuda grass fairways, true greens and finishing hole that ranks as one of the toughest in the world, this course is a strenuous but perfectly fair test.

For every lover of magnificent golf, this is one that should definitely be on your ‘bucket list’.
