The Monastery, designed by Robert Trent Jones Jr., is a 9-hole, par 35 measuring 2,588 metres. Opened in 1995 , it spreads around the historical part of the Resort. It is the perfect complement of the Atlantic Championship and a unique opportunity for beginners to get in touch with the sport.

It is a challenging course, which is nonetheless easier than the Atlantic Course. High handicap players tend to feel more comfortable playing it, but it provides an enjoyable round for any player.

Full practice facilities include a putting green, a chipping green with 2 bunkers, and a driving range with 20 bays on grass. Two resident professionals are available for individual tuition or clinics. Buggies, manual and electric trolleys, clubs and shoes can be hired.

23 km W of Lisbon.
A5 E from Lisbon. At J10 follow N9 Sintra signs to Autodrome. For Penha Longa Golf turn left 1.6 kms after Autodrome main entrance (ignore sign to Ribeira P. Longa), then follow signs to Penha Longa.
